The Japan Cup

The Japan Cup is one of the most prestigious thoroughbred races in all of Japan and Asia. It is held on the last Sunday of November each year which perfectly follows Australia’s spring carnival season. The race is organised by the Japan Racing Association and is held in Tokyo in Fuchu at the iconic Tokyo Racecourse. The race is run under ‘weight for age’ conditions and at a distance of 2400 metres. With prize money of ¥476 million (about US $5.8 million), the Japan Cup is one of the richest races in the world.

The Host City

Tokyo, Japan’s pulsating capital perfectly blends the modern with the traditional. Here visitors are mesmerised by bright neon-lit streets and skyscrapers then taken back centuries with a visit to one it’s tranquil historic temples. Located near Diaba Station on the Yurikamone Line (see below), its location gives it’s guests easy access to all the sights within Tokyo Bay along with central Tokyo. The hotel features numerous restaurants, health club, day spa, pool, bakery and cafe and much more.

Yurikamone Line

The Transit Yurikamome (Shinkotsu Yurikamome) is a driverless, automated transit service linking Shimbashi Station in Shimbashi to Toyosu Station in Toyosu, via the entertainment and shopping district of Odaiba across the Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo.

On this tour you will meet a retired Sumo wrestler where he’ll take you through live performance along and will immerse you in the iconic world of the Sumo scene in Tokyo. Following this enjoy a Chanko Hot Pot lunch at a local restaurant- a Sumo favourite.

Sushi Making Class – $TBC

Learn to master making your own Sushi with one of Tokyo’s leading Sushi making teacher. Once you’re done, all there left is to enjoy the fruits of your labour – lunch!
