The Japan Cup
The Japan Cup is one of the most prestigious thoroughbred races in all of Japan and Asia. It is held on the last Sunday of November each year which perfectly follows Australia’s spring carnival season. The race is organised by the Japan Racing Association and is held in Tokyo in Fuchu at the iconic Tokyo Racecourse. The race is run under ‘weight for age’ conditions and at a distance of 2400 metres. With prize money of ¥476 million (about US $5.8 million), the Japan Cup is one of the richest races in the world.
The Host City
