Resort Overview
Aside from the sensational skiing and snowboarding Telluride has on offer, people are drawn to the region to experience the jaw dropping scenery of the box canyon and breathtaking mountain peaks. Telluride’s history as a mining settlement from the 1800s characterises the town with historic charm and the overall vibe is very laid back. The resort’s facilities and infrastructure are cutting edge and well developed making it a very easy and stress free skiing destination to holiday.
Where is Telluride Ski Resort?
Telluride is situated in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains in the state’s southwest. Montrose/Telluride Airport is the major airport used by most visitors when getting to Telluride. Montrose airport is around a 90 minute scenic drive through the San Juan Mountains.
Where to stay in Telluride
Telluride has accommodation options that suit all travelling styles, from 5 star lodges to clean and comfortable hotel rooms.
If you are looking for ski-in, ski-out accommodation options or wanting quick access to the lifts each morning then we would recommend staying at the base of the mountain in Telluride’s Mountain Village. With a range of great hotels, lodges, suites and condos all within walking distance to chairlifts, ski schools and several restaurants and cafes, everything you could want from a ski holiday will be at your fingertips.
Alternatively, if you are looking to stay off mountain then we would recommend staying in Telluride’s Downtown area. Confident skiers and snowboarders will be able to ski into town, however to ski-out you will need to take the gondola and chairlift to the slopes. Compared to Telluride’s Mountain Village there are more dining and shopping options, and still has a great selection of hotels, condos, and lodges.
